Abama Resort, Tenerife Spain
Beautiful property but it lacks an excellent quality of service. Billing was so inaccurate and a complete mess it took us weeks to solve.

Atlantis Casino Resort Spa, Reno NV
It's possible that the property's ongoing and delayed construction is leading to staff exhaustion and burn-out. But when I feel I need to inspect VIP rooms - provide a list in advance and STILL find problems in those rooms - there is a critical failure on the property's part. Both in lack of pride in the image they present and commitment to providing excellent service to a client. I have never been more disappointed in a property than I am with the Atlantis.

Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo
The property is beautiful. Service at the outlets is phenomenal. Front Office and Bellman are top notch. Convention Services Mgr. dropped the ball many times. Too many errors. Need to constantly remind the CSM of items that were discussed during the pre-con. Everything NEEDS to be followed up in writing. Housekeeping & Rooms division does not communicate - Housekeeping came around 9:30pm to do turndown. Rooms were not cleaned until 12noon some days. Amenity deliveries need to be discussed as to the time you want them delivered otherwise they will show up past 9pm.

Hotel Del Coronado, San Diego CA
As the Hotel Del has a reputation for being a beautiful historical monument, it is true to say that looks do not always guarantee results. As many planners have big ideas for programs, this property does not expect you to actually execute them. It took a full month to finally get them to come up with a dinner that was within our standard and even though it was a fantastic event, the planning with them was exhausting. The new Beach Villas are beautiful and I highly recommend booking VIP clients here, but the prices for the main Victorian building are not really worth the cost. I will use this hotel again, only because guests request it, other properties in the area adhere to customer service standards in a much better fashion.

Marriott Anaheim Convention Center, Anaheim CA
While the Marriott Anaheim is an older hotel and not on par physically with newer properties, they may have the best staff that I have worked with in a long time. Both their convention and foodservice staff are top notch. Despite this being a large, convention-oriented hotel, my somewhat smallish group for 150 was given top-notch service and we never felt "lost" amongst the other groups on property.

Waldorf Astoria, New York NY
The Waldorf is a Historic NY property but I found it to be very outdated and the entrance with those stairs is challenging. They are understaffed at night for late arrivals. I thought the food was pretty good but their prices are outrageous. I think the rooms are small and hideous. The technology is a real challenge for large meetings. I did think most of the staff in banqueting etc. were extremely nice & helpful.
