Frequently Asked Questions

Meetings Intelligence Exchange Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will the Meetings Intelligence Exchange benefit me?
A: If you’re like most executives that manage multiple projects and meetings it should. As our database of property reviews grows you will be able to quickly and efficiently gather performance data about hotels, resorts, and suppliers that you can use to make better informed decisions.
Q: Why should I submit property reviews from my meetings?
A: The Meetings Intelligence Exchange was developed by meetings industry professionals for meetings industry professionals, and ours is an industry that has always welcomed and thrived on sharing information. When you share your expectations, insights and experience with your peers you’re providing intelligence that they can use. Your peers will benefit from your experiences and you can benefit from theirs. If you invest the time to share your reviews now you’ll reap the rewards of learning from your peers experiences later.
Q: Can anybody submit a property review?
A: No. Only executives with meeting responsibilities that have been approved for membership can submit a property review. The Meetings Intelligence is a “peer to peer” network and most of our meeting professional members have been referred by other members. Unlike other travel review sites where anybody can critique a hotel only approved members have the privilege to post a review.
Q: How do I know that the information in the review is accurate?
A: We have established a number of guidelines and procedures to ensure that reviews are accurate. Only approved members have the ability to post a review. Review guidelines are very clear and we require our members to adhere to them. All reviews are read and approved by the Meetings Intelligence Exchange prior to them being published to our members. Periodically we will discuss the members’ reviews with the Director of Sales at the property to ensure that they are accurate. If a review is inaccurate or does not meet our guidelines it will not be published to our members.
Q: Will other meeting professional members or the hotel property know that I posted the review?
A: It depends on how you establish your user profile and member name. A setting in your user profile allows you to make it public and available to other members and hotel subscribers or to make it private and not available to other members or hotel subscribers. Members will be able to see your user name so if it’s different from your first or last name they won’t be able to identify you.
Q: Can anybody respond to my review?
A: Other meeting professional members can reply to your review to learn more from your experiences. If the hotel that you reviewed is a subscriber to the Meetings Intelligence Exchange they can reply to you only if you’ve established a “public” user profile. Again it’s your choice to allow or prohibit a response from the hotel. All responses are directed to your email address and not through your Meetings Intelligence Exchange dashboard.
Q: Will the hotel get mad about how I rated them or will they welcome my feedback?
A: If you provide an honest and accurate review they should welcome your feedback. Most professional hoteliers welcome honest and timely feedback and use it to improve their product and service.
Q: Can hotel subscribers see reviews about hotels other than their own?
A: No. They can only see reviews on their hotel.
Q: What if my membership or subscription application is accepted and I find that the information and tools in the Meetings Intelligence are not useful?
A: If you’re paying monthly membership or subscription fees you can cancel at any time without obligation. If you’re paying annual membership fees you can cancel at any time without obligation and we will prorate your refund based the number of months you have remaining in your membership.
Q: Will the Meetings Intelligence Exchange sell my contact information to other organizations?
A: No.
